The Software
Microsoft Windows and Office

Microsoft is the defacto standard for Office Applications and Operating Systems. There are some choices that you need to be aware of.

We have tested Microsoft Vista for Business, and, although more secure, we found that it is harder to manage. The Total Cost of Ownership is too high for small offices or an origanisation with a number of small offices.

We recommend using Windows XP, as it is a robust and powerful Operating System that is well tested, after nearly 5 years of service.

Microsoft have greatly enhanced the look and feel of their Office Applications, and with version 2007 the change from Office 2003 can be quite dramatic. Our most profound Office Users here at ITPassion needed two months to get acquainted with the new look and feel.

This can greatly increase the learning curve for your staff. We can offer a "Get Acquainted" seminar to help you understand the most commonly used functionality in Office, and where to find it.
